The York, PA mom and running coach thought that the sport would save her, she wrote on Instagram the morning of the 2022 Boston Marathon.
"I wanted to succeed because it would save me. Help me," she wrote. "While I loved racing, my fuel for the race was heavy and negative."
The "What Runs You" owner, known simply as "Coach Alysha" on TikTok, has been documenting her training in the months leading up to the race.
On Monday, April 18, things felt different, Flynn said.
"This is the first race I’m running that I feel like I’ve won before I’ve even touched the starting line," she writes, noting for years it felt like she was "running to escape something."
Flynn set out alongside some of the world's top athletes, more ready than ever.
"If it’s my day, watch out. Either way, I’m proud all the way through 26.2."
Check back to see how Flynn fares in today's race.
